Kitchen Calming
The Health Hunter vol. 11 Dr. Cathy Hunter

"It is only when we realize that life is taking us nowhere that it begins to take meaning." .
--P.D. Ouspensky , Ph.D.
Most kitchens are generally centers for high activity-culinary creativity, chatter, gossip and the incessant opening and shutting of refrigerator doors. However, many of our kitchens storehouse several natural products that can actually alleviate stress and calm our nerves.
The phthalide found in celery and serotonin present in honey have inherent sedative effects. Devouring high carbohydrate foods, such as pasta, bread and tortilla chips, satiate the body and allow it to turn down a notch. Another tranquilizing kitchen item is calcium. Drinking at least 1,000 milligrams per day (equivalent to a quart of milk) to calm you down naturally.
So, next time little Johnny is bouncing off the walls or your hubby is pulling out what remains of his hair from the day's stress, send them to the kitchen for some calming remedies.
Health and wellness begin from inside, without nerve interference your body will thrive…!
Have a healthy and fun week…
